Come worship with us!
Worship at Northminster usually takes place Sunday mornings at 10:30 AM.
Our worship is biblically-based and our style is diverse, utilizing modern worship songs as well as traditional hymns. We use electronic projection to enhance worship with visual imagery. Sometimes we bring the bible story to life with pictures, and other times we use drama. We pray together for the many needs of the world and for ourselves, and we want worship to offer insight and hope amidst the challenges of life. Worship is a time to discern the ways of Jesus and how the Spirit of God is at work in our lives. We would consider our church to be friendly, casual, contemporary, and spirit filled. Our worship services are about 60 minutes long, and everyone is welcome.
Everyone who comes to church gathers for worship together. About 20 minutes into most services, children and youth leave for their own creative program to explore faith at their own level, and adults stay in worship. A nursery is staffed by caring volunteers for little ones. Of course, infants, children, and youth are welcome to stay in worship with parents for the full hour if that is more comforting.
Communion is where all who are gathered share together in a small taste of grape juice and bread as we remember the last meal Jesus had with his disciples. You do not need to be a member to celebrate communion with us – so long as you are seeking to understand the ways of God in your life, you are welcome to receive the bread and the cup. Children and youth are welcome to participate also. We celebrate communion about six times a year – at Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving and other special dates.
After worship, refreshments, goodies, and conversation takes place in our gymnasium. We hope you will stay so we can get to know you. Toys are also available for children at this time.
